Book Description

All your suspicions or concepts of the back rooms of politics may be validated...then again, they may be shattered.

Where do we start with Louisiana politics? Here, with My Name Is Ron.

This insightful and colorful narration from behind the scenes in Louisiana politics leaves insiders nodding knowingly, potential candidates reconsidering, and readers more aware of “politics as usual.” Here you will find the unreported, unrecorded, and unfiltered experiences of a Louisiana state legislator. Some material will serve as a validation to notions already known, while some will...well, you’ll see...

“This book plows rich new ground. The legislature is a great stage and seldom has anyone reported so adeptly on the histrionics and humor of it. We see it through the perceptive eyes of Ron Gomez, a skilled journalist who later served honorably and effectively in the Louisiana House of Representatives. If offers a unique double-barreled perspective.”

Bob Hamm, author, humorist, and editorial writer for the Lafayette Advertiser

“This book is a welcome insight to Louisiana politics … a superb account by an ex-legislator with a schooled eye for the successes and failures of Louisiana’s unique system of government.”

William Conway, PhD, former Secretary, Wisconsin Dept. of Regulation and Licensing, former aide to Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer
